Busses dropping off athletes:
Any bus providing a DROP OFF of athletes must use the east entrance (pond entrance) off 21 mile road.
Follow driveway to the drive north of the school. Turn left and drop athletes at the southeast entrance to the
stadium. There will be someone to greet the teams and let them know where they can set up camp. We have
three areas that can be used. Busses will then be directed to our bus parking area at Cheyenne Elementary
School west of the track. Teams traveling by cars can use the same entrance and park in the lot at the end of
this driveway.

Spectator entrance and parking:
Spectators should use the entrance west of the school at the light off 21 mile Road or the entrance off
Heydenreich which is north of 21 mile road west of the school. Spectators who travel on M59 to Heydenreich
then travel north to the entrance which at the light north of 21 mile road.
Spectator Parking: $3/car

“TENT CITY-TEAM CAMP AREA”
Teams will be allowed to set up tents in the baseball stadium outfield east of the track. Teams can also set up in
the area south of the baseball field, just inside the southeast entrance. There is also an area north of the long
jump pit that can be used. The welcome committee will direct you to these locations. No team camps will be
allowed within the stadium. Please keep your area clean.
In the event of inclement weather we will open up the high school Gym located southeast of the track. This is
20 yards south of where the teams are being dropped off. No team camps will we allowed in the main bleachers
west off the track.

INFIELD REMINDERS
Infield should be used for athletes being checked in and warming up. Expect a no headphone or personal media
device rule to be placed on athletes on the infield. Remind them now so that we don’t have any issues. There
will be a coaches’ box by all field events. We are using a raised runway for the pole vault in the infield.
This area will be coned off for the safety of athletes in this event. Only pole vault athletes and coaches should
be in this area.
An athletic trainer will be available at the finish line tent. Water will also be available for athletes on the
infield.

Congratulations on an outstanding Regional.
Finishing 2nd with 100.5 points, the meet was a great success.

Javon McQueen had an exceptional day qualifying in 4 events.  Running a PR 15.02a, he qualified in the 110h.  He also led off all 3 qualifying relays.

800 Relay - 2nd place in 1:29.14a - McQueen, Dathan Dickerson, Marlon Martin, Stephen Blunt

400 Relay - 1st place in 43.01a - McQueen, Martin, Dickerson, Blunt

1600 Relay - 5th in 3:27.25a - McQueen, Xavier Hill, Dickerson, Corey Goodloe

Goodloe also qualified in the 200 & 400.  Having run a PR (22.09a) in Semis, Corey finished 4th in the finals with his 22.63a.  In the 400, he ran his 2nd fastest time ever (49.06a) to finish 3rd.

Blunt broke both short sprint school records in the semi final round. He went 10.71a in the semis and came back to win the finals with 10.81a.  In the 200 semis, he ran 21.69a.  However, he failed to make the state meet in the 200. A sore hamstring caused him to pull up and coast to 7th place in 23.33a.

The previous school records were both hand times.  Marshal Kyles had run a hand time of 10.7 which converts to 10.92a.  The 200 record was our oldest record, set in the 1960s by Willie Jones.  His hand time of 21.5 would convert to 21.72a.

Mitchell Martin qualified in both throws.  His 48'2" effort placed 2nd in the shot put.  Andrew Boczar won the discus with 152'10". Martin was 2nd with his 146'2".

Marlon Martin also ran a big PR in semis, clocking 22.37a in the 200.  He too had a hamstring issue in the finals and did not qualify for the state meet.

Dickerson also scored in the long jump, placing 8th with his 19'5" jump.  Mikey March was 5th shot put and 6th in Discus.  Jeff Copi (5'11") was 5th in high jump.  The 3200 relay team of Joseph Cornell, Jhonathan Childs, Zac Jenkins and Cameron Bitzer finished 7th.  Noah Dawn was less than 2 seconds off of the 1600 additional qualifying standard.  His PR effort of 4:28.8 was good for 6th place.  Mitchell Dumoulin ran a 3 second PR in the 800.

Great job!

Special congratulations to Elisabeth LaPrad.  Ellie is the only state qualifier from the girls team.  Her PR effort of 5:02 in the 1600 was good enough for 2nd place and a trip to Rockford!!! WTG!
