Pole Vault starts at 9:00 AM
Field events start at 10:00 AM,
Running Events start at noon.
3 entries per event.
Congratulations on an outstanding Regional.
Finishing 2nd with 100.5 points, the meet was a great success.
Javon McQueen had an exceptional day qualifying in 4 events. Running a PR 15.02a, he qualified in the 110h. He also led off all 3 qualifying relays.
800 Relay - 2nd place in 1:29.14a - McQueen, Dathan Dickerson, Marlon Martin, Stephen Blunt
400 Relay - 1st place in 43.01a - McQueen, Martin, Dickerson, Blunt
1600 Relay - 5th in 3:27.25a - McQueen, Xavier Hill, Dickerson, Corey Goodloe
Goodloe also qualified in the 200 & 400. Having run a PR (22.09a) in Semis, Corey finished 4th in the finals with his 22.63a. In the 400, he ran his 2nd fastest time ever (49.06a) to finish 3rd.
Blunt broke both short sprint school records in the semi final round. He went 10.71a in the semis and came back to win the finals with 10.81a. In the 200 semis, he ran 21.69a. However, he failed to make the state meet in the 200. A sore hamstring caused him to pull up and coast to 7th place in 23.33a.
The previous school records were both hand times. Marshal Kyles had run a hand time of 10.7 which converts to 10.92a. The 200 record was our oldest record, set in the 1960s by Willie Jones. His hand time of 21.5 would convert to 21.72a.
Mitchell Martin qualified in both throws. His 48'2" effort placed 2nd in the shot put. Andrew Boczar won the discus with 152'10". Martin was 2nd with his 146'2".
Marlon Martin also ran a big PR in semis, clocking 22.37a in the 200. He too had a hamstring issue in the finals and did not qualify for the state meet.
Dickerson also scored in the long jump, placing 8th with his 19'5" jump. Mikey March was 5th shot put and 6th in Discus. Jeff Copi (5'11") was 5th in high jump. The 3200 relay team of Joseph Cornell, Jhonathan Childs, Zac Jenkins and Cameron Bitzer finished 7th. Noah Dawn was less than 2 seconds off of the 1600 additional qualifying standard. His PR effort of 4:28.8 was good for 6th place. Mitchell Dumoulin ran a 3 second PR in the 800.
Great job!
Special congratulations to Elisabeth LaPrad. Ellie is the only state qualifier from the girls team. Her PR effort of 5:02 in the 1600 was good enough for 2nd place and a trip to Rockford!!! WTG!

2015 Eagle Boy’s JV Track & Field Invite
A 'Traditional (no pre/semis) Style', BOY’S ONLY meet for those athletes NOT participating in the State Regional Meet. We feel that it is important to offer our 2nd and 3rd tier athletes a chance to have fun and have the spotlight shined upon them. This meet is not solely a Frosh-Soph Meet!
|
LOCATION: Skyline Track Field, Ann Arbor Skyline HS
DATE: Weds, May 13, 2015
ENTRY FEE: $75 per school
Make check payable to Skyline Athletic Booster Club, attn: Women’s Track
AWARDS: All events = Medals to top 5 Places;
SCORING: No team scoring, but please follow rules governing number of events participated in!
OFFICIALS: Most of the workers will be our varsity athletes; please be sure to be flexible with them! Also, we will need help in officiating some of the field events-be prepared to offer up one of your 'assistant coaches' as a possible worker.... Assistance offered in moving hurdles/blocks will speed the meet along!
EVENTS: Unlimited entries per event per each team-relays too! We will not request entries prior to meet day! This allows maximum 'flex' in determining lineups-remember as there is no team scoring, you can give kids opportunities to experiment, shoot for that last PR, whatever! However, this is actually a clerking nightmare. HAVE YOUR KIDS KNOW A PR time for use in seeding!
We need to have an electronic copy of your roster before the meet. Use athletic.net or email an excel document with first and last name AND grade of athlete.
FORMAT: There are no prelims/semis. Relays lanes/heats are assigned randomly.
BE PREPARED TO BE PATIENT & FLEXIBLE!
RESULTS: Available immediately after the meet and will be posted online after the meet.
GENERAL: The purpose of the EAGLE LAST CHANCE INVITE is to have a FUN, informal meet to offer those athletes who are NOT competing in the State Regional Meet one more opportunity to compete. Due to the potential for a LARGE amount of athletes, we may need your help in supplying workers, coaching ALL athletes (not just your own) & enforcing uniform/jewelry rules, etc.
TEAMS: While this is an all-comers meet, schools located in the Washtenaw, Livingston and Western Wayne counties were invited formally via athletic.net !
SCHEDULE: 4:00 LJ-1 hour Open Pit (4 jumps) no finals

Clerking - Be aware of the order of events. You should memorize the dual meet order. However, invitationals will have varying schedules - we will always post the schedule at our team tent. It's up to you to know your event, when to warm up, and when to check-in (get clerked).
Relays - If more than one relay members wears a visible undergarment, all must be the same, solid color. Take and return your baton from the baton bag. If relay cards are required, be sure you have your completed card and bring it to clerking. 4x100, be sure you have chalk. Mark your steps asap, after clerking.

Tent - The tent is like our "bench." Although we welcome the support of our friends and family, the tent should be a place for OUR TEAM to relax, stretch, stay dry and communicate with coaches.
Support - Weather permitting, we expect all Trojan Track & Field athletes to support one another. If you're not preparing for you next event, you should be out of the tent supporting your teammates.
EVERYONE STAYS UNTIL COMPLETION OF THE FINAL EVENT!!!
Food - A successful track meet starts with a healthy breakfast! Fuel your body for top performance. Bring a healthy lunch and snacks to all meets. Hydration is key. Make sure you're properly hydrated before you arrive to the meet. Bring at least one water bottle with you.
Track Bag - We recommend having two bags: A large duffle bag with extra clothes, food, toilet paper or tissues, first aid kit, garbage bag (in case of rain), and homework; and a smaller bag with competition shoes.

Field Events - Once the team warm up has completed, inspect your event area.
Long Jump Mark your steps asap. Its your responsibility to know your approach distance.
Pole Vault We will always have measuring tapes and chalk to do so.
High Jump Please be sure to return our equipment to its proper place.
