Boys Trojan Track & Field Week 5 - Spring Break

Field Events - Please arrive by 8:00am - Running Events by 10:00am
No Bus - Meet at Jefferson High School - Plan to stay until the end.
Meet is usuallay over by 3:00pm.

Dress in layers and bring extra clothes.
Pack a healthy lunch / snacks. Bring a water bottle.

Freshman/Sophomore Invitational
Date: Saturday – April 11, 2015
Time: 9:30 AM – Field Events (no pole vault)
12:00 PM – Running events begin. ( stooner if possible, so be ready)

Awards: Top six (6) places in every event receive medals. No team scoring.

Notes: All events are a relay, including the field events. Top two are scored
in the field events. You may enter three (3) athletes in every field
event, but you only need two or one to enter.

T-SHIRTS will be on sale for $13 each. Please inform your athletes.

Admission: $5.00 each person.

Location: Take I-75 towards Monroe, MI. Get off at the Nadeau Rd. exit 18,
take Nadeau east to N. Stony Creek Rd. and you will see us. Please
park all buses in the Middle School parking lot.

"B" Teams will not medal unless 6 or less teams compete in event.

Trojan Track & Field Meet Day Expectations

·         Warm Up - We will warm up as a team at each meet - as soon as we arrive.                                         
o   2 Laps - Therabands - Drills                                          

·         Individual warm up for each event                                                          
o   Distance - 800 - 1600 run - Drills - Strides                               
o   MD - 400 - 800 run - Drills - Strides                           
o   Sprints - 400 run - Drills - Strides               

·         Cool Down -  cool down properly after each event                                                          
o   Distance - 800 - 1600 run - Static Stretch                                
o   MD - 400-800 run - Static Stretch                              
o   Sprints - 400 run - Static Stretch                

·         Uniform - Wear your school issued uniform. Black half tights / compression shorts may be worn in place of baggy race shorts.                                                          
o   Any visible undergarment must be solid black.                                  
o   Warm ups - if provided a team jacket, please wear with black pants. If not, please wear only red, white, black, gray warm up clothes.                        

·         Clerking - Be aware of the order of events. You should memorize the dual meet order, However, invitationals will have varying schedules - we will always post the schedule at our team tent.      
o   It's up to you to know your event, when to warm up, and when to check-in (get clerked).                           

·         Relays - If more than one relay members wears a visible undergarment, all must be the same, solid color.                                               
§  Take and return your baton from the baton bag.                              
§  If relay cards are required, be sure you have your completed card and bring it to clerking.                               
§  4x100, be sure you have chalk.  Mark your steps asap, after clerking.                      

·         Field Events - Once the team warm up has completed, inspect your event area.                           
o   Long Jump -

o   High Jump -
§  Mark your steps asap.  It’s your responsibility to know your approach distance. We will always have measuring tapes and chalk to do so.  Please be sure to return our equipment to its proper place.              

·         Tent - The tent is like our "bench." Although we welcome the support of our friends and family, the tent should be a place for our team to relax, stretch, stay dry and communicate with coaches.                                            

·         Support - Weather permitting, we expect all Trojan Track & Field athletes to support one another.  If you're not preparing for you next event, you should be out of the tent supporting your teammates.                                     
o   EVERYONE STAYS UNTIL COMPLETION OF THE FINAL EVENT!!!                                  

·         Food - A successful track meet starts with a healthy breakfast!  Fuel your body for top performance.                                     
o   Bring a healthy lunch and snacks to all meets.  Hydration is key.  Make sure you're properly hydrated before you arrive to the meet. Bring at least one water bottle with you.                                               

·         Track Bag - We recommend having two bags: A large duffle bag with extra clothes, food, toilet paper or tissues, first aid kit, garbage bag (in case of rain), and homework; and a smaller bag with competition shoes.
