Boys Track & Field 2017 - Week 3

Weather - Looks like a great week ahead.  As always, please plan and pack for all conditions.

Watch for updates throughout the week.  Lots of information below.

  • Need new trainers, workout clothes, spikes?!?! 
    • Run Hip Team Night is coming up.  More details to come. 

  • Airport Invitational - Friday, April 7th. 
    • Please note, we have added this meet to our schedule.
  • Please complete the Captains, Spring Break, T-shirt form asap. 
    • I sent a link via Remind earlier today. 

  • Pay to Participate MUST be submitted by Monday, 3/26/17.
    • Please address any questions, comments or concerns to Dr. Ray in the athletic office.  Payment plans may be available.

Huron Relays Review-


We placed 7th out of 31 teams in yesterday’s Division 1 Huron Relays at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. 

Donovan Isaac finished 2nd in the 60m in a PR time, 7.08.  Isaac also teamed with Xavier Hill, Tyson Grant, and Ryan Rolland to place 2nd in the 800 relay in 1:35.31. 

Other medalists:
Hill, Rolland, TC Christian, and Jared Banks finished 4th in the 1600 relay in 3:35.31. 

Jacob Toussaint placed 6th in the long jump with a best effort of 18’ 7.5”.

This Week

Things to bring - pack your bag the night before


  • Water Bottle - Carry a bottle during school - drink before you get thirsty
  • Healthy snack for after school / before practice
  • Watch
  • Indoor and Outdoor clothes
  • Trainers
  • Competition shoes
    • If you own spikes, throwing shoes, jumping shoes, please bring them each day.


TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK

Monday - Practice 2:30 - 5:00
  • Meet at track - High Jump Apron
  • Distance - Easy Run, Strides, Hurdle Walk Overs, Foam Rolling, Stretch, Possible Ice Bath
  • Sprinters, MD - Specific Endurance
  • Long Jump practice could go until 5:30
Tuesday - Practice 2:30 - 5:00
  • Distance - Intervals & Weight Room
  • MD -  Aerobic Power
  • Sprinters - Anaerobic Quality 
  • Weight Room
Wednesday - Practice 2:30 - 5:00
  • Meet at track - High Jump Apron
  • Distance -Easy Run, Strides, Hurdle Walk Overs, Foam Rolling, Stretch, Possible Ice Bath
  • MD - Anaerobic Alactic capacity
  • Sprinters - Strength Intensive
  • High Jump Practice could go until 5:30
Thursday - Practice 2:30 - 5:00
  • Meet at track - High Jump Apron
  • Distance - Tempo & Weight Room
  • Sprinters, MD - Hurdle Walk Overs & Plyos
  • Weight Room
Friday - Practice 2:30 - 5:00
  • Chance of rain - Meeting place TBA
  • Distance - Easy Run, Strides, Hurdle Walk Overs, Foam Rolling, Stretch, Possible Ice Bath
  • Sprinters - Block Work
  • MD - Anaerobic Alactic capacity
Saturday - Practice 10:45 AM - 1:00 PM
